Savannah Resources has resumed fieldwork at its Barroso lithium project in northern Portugal after the government lifted a three-week suspension triggered by a court injunction, declaring the project of national and European significance. Resources at the spodumene deposit exceed 39-million tons, Europe's largest, with potential extensions that could push this above 100-million tons; a final investment decision is expected by the end of the year, with construction planned for 2027 and first production in 2028.
Almonty starts tungsten processing at South Korea's Sangdong mineTungsten producer Almonty Industries has begun feeding stockpiled ore through its newly commissioned processing plant at the Sangdong mine, marking its shift into revenue-generating operations. The company notes Sangdong's ore grade is three times higher than that of its Panasqueira mine in Portugal, and plans a downstream tungsten oxide plant to build an integrated Western tungsten supply chain.
