The wind farm will be developed by a consortium comprising ENGIE (35%), Orascom Construction (25%) and Aeolus (40%) – an African renewable energy independent power producer platform of Toyota Tsusho Corporation.
Project Description
The project involves the development of a 900 MW onshore wind farm and will be developed under a 25-year build, own and operate scheme. Once operational, it will become ENGIE’s largest onshore wind farm worldwide.

Latest Developments
ENGIE announced the signing of a power purchase agreement with the Egyptian Electricity Transmission Company in May 2026 for the development of the wind farm.
