Daimler Truck Southern Africa

Daimler Truck Southern Africa is a commercial vehicle manufacturer and distributor operating in South Africa and neighbouring markets. The company is a subsidiary of Daimler Truck, the global commercial vehicle division that was spun off from Mercedes-Benz Group in 2021. Daimler Truck Southern Africa is headquartered in Gauteng province and operates manufacturing, assembly and distribution facilities across the country. The company produces and sells a range of trucks and commercial vehicles under the Mercedes-Benz, Freightliner and Fuso brands, serving the freight, logistics, construction and mining sectors. Its product portfolio includes heavy-duty trucks, medium-duty trucks, buses and vans tailored to African operating conditions. Daimler Truck Southern Africa also operates the TruckStore retail network, which provides sales, service, parts and financing for commercial vehicles. The company employs several thousand people across its manufacturing plants, dealerships and service centres. Daimler Truck Southern Africa has been present in the region for decades, with its operations tracing back to the establishment of Mercedes-Benz South Africa's commercial vehicle division in the mid-twentieth century.
