Glover takes up reins at WorleyParsons South Africa
Following the acquisition of project house TWP by Australia-based WorleyParsons earlier this year, the global project delivery company has announced that former TWP Holdings CEO Digby Glover has been appointed CEO of WorleyParsons South Africa.
Glover, who had been employed by the TWP group since 2001, had occupied the role of WorleyParsons South Africa COO for the last eight months, which sub-Saharan Africa MD Francis McNiff said made him the most suitable candidate to lead the combined South African business after integration.
“Digby has been responsible for the transition of the TWP operations into WorleyParsons and the operations of the business generally, as well as for establishing Johannesburg as a mining execution center for WorleyParsons globally,” he commented.
To support Glover in his new role and aid in the integration of the Johannesburg and Pretoria operations into a consolidated delivery centre, a number of additional changes came into effect on October 28.
Former Pretoria-based operations manager Martin Simmonite would take up the role of COO, responsible for all operations, while Henry Jonker has been appointed operations manager for the Johannesburg office.
Johan Swart, who had been employed by the WorleyParsons South Africa group for the last two years, would take up the role of operations manager for the Pretoria office.
