Matrix promotes digital approach to PPE management at A-OSH Expo 2026
Matrix Design Africa customer relations leader Leon Kachelhoffer speaks to Engineering News at A-OSH Expo 2026 about hidden personal protection equipment management costs and improving accountability through digital tracking. Camerawork: Shadwyn Dickinson. Editing: Nicholas Boyd.
Companies can reduce hidden costs associated with personal protective equipment (PPE) abuse, over-issuing and poor inventory control by adopting digital management systems, says Matrix Design Africa customer relations leader Leon Kachelhoffer.
Speaking to Engineering News at A-OSH Expo 2026, Kachelhoffer said organisations often underestimate the costs associated with poorly controlled PPE issuance, with unnecessary replacement and wastage contributing to higher expenditure.
Matrix Design Africa, which has delivered business and safety solutions to organisations across multiple industries for more than 40 years, showcased its ppe2go® digital PPE management platform at the exhibition. The solution is designed to simplify PPE issuing, entitlement management, tracking and reporting through an easy-to-use platform.
Kachelhoffer said digital PPE management systems improve accountability by recording exactly who received specific PPE items and when they were issued, helping organisations reduce waste and respond more effectively to compliance and audit requirements.
He also highlighted ppe2go® Cloud, the latest version of the platform, which extends the solution's capabilities to mobile and multi-site environments, broadening its application in sectors such as construction.
