Yarlung Zangbo hydropower project.

Location
Nyingchi City, south-west China’s Xizang Autonomous Region.

Project Owner/s
The project will be overseen by the newly formed State-owned China Yajiang Group.

Project Description
The project will be the world's largest hydropower dam. It will include five cascade hydropower stations and produce 300-billion kilowatt-hours a year of electricity.

Potential Job Creation
China Yajiang Group has not given an estimate on the number of jobs the project could create.

Capital Expenditure
$167.8-billion.

Planned Start/End Date
Operations are expected to start sometime in the 2030s.
