WIKA Instruments, one of the nine production sites of the Germany-headquartered WIKA group, manufactures pressure, temperature, level and flow measuring instrumentation for the Southern African market. It also imports and distributes other instrumentation products that complement the product range of its parent, which has 43 subsidiaries worldwide.

WIKA Instruments has its headquarters in Denver, near Johannesburg’s central business district, where the facilities include a 3 500 m2 factory on a 10 400 m2 site.

The instrumentation products manufactured at the Denver site include mechanical pressure gauges, gas-actuated and bimetal mechanical temperature gauges and electrical temperature sensors. A sizeable computer numerically controlled workshop manufactures components for the pressure and temperature assembly lines. Selected KSR Kuebler stainless-steel level switches are also manufactured at the factory.

Pressure and temperature calibration is an important part of the service offering from WIKA Instruments, which has two South African National Accreditation System-certified laboratories (for pressure and temperature calibration) and three mobile calibration laboratories. The company also has ISO 9001 accreditation for quality management.

WIKA Instruments has 13 branches throughout South Africa. Since its founding in 1979, it has grown to become a R200-million-a-year-turnover company employing 220 people.
