Founded in 1972, Universal Clips is a proudly South African manufacturer and distributor of a wide range of hose clamps. 

Based in Gauteng, Universal Clips’ products are distributed country-wide and internationally through specialist distributors. Universal Clips are valued suppliers to a variety of industries such as automotive, marine, offshore, construction equipment, irrigation, agricultural machinery, mining and white goods.  

Uniclips, Uniclamp, Hema and Gro-Lok are all brands in the Universal Clips stable of products.  

Universal Clips is particularly proud of maintaining its ISO 9001 quality certification for over 20 years, with all of its products conforming to international specifications.

Universal Clips’ wide range of locally manufactured clamps include: 

  • Worm drive clamps manufactured in various types of steel
  • Heavy duty bolted clamps
  • Wire clamps
  • Speciality clamp, such as T-bolt clamps
  • A variety of custom-made clips, clamps and metal pressings manufactured according to customers’ specifications.

Universal Clips’ pressing and manufacturing capabilities range from small wire-forming machines through to 300 t press equipment. The company’s fully equipped tool room and its access to state-of-the-art design facilities enables it to manufacture products that meet customer’s specific requirements.

Universal Clips have recently partnered with Mikalor, a leading European IATF 16949 certified clamp manufacturer with over 75 years of experience and technical expertise.

This partnership has vastly expanded the range of products on offer, including Mikalor’s premium brand of DIN 3017 European-type solid band worm drive clamps and Supra spot-welded bolt clamps.

Universal Clips’ customers now have access to Mikalor’s extensive range of locally stocked products, comprising:

  • The full range of DIN 3016 P-clamps in various bandwidths
  • Ear crimp clamps
  • A specialist automotive range
  • Hose clamp accessories and application tooling

Universal Clips’ worm-drive range now encompasses zinc-plated mild steel configurations (W1) to 316 stainless steel (W5) options and includes recently introduced Mikalor titanium worm-drive clamps!
