Project Description
Work is under way to transform northern Virginia’s Interstate 66 into a multimodal corridor.

The project includes the construction of 35 km of road along the I-66 corridor between Route 29, in the vicinity of Gainesville, and I-495, the Capital Beltway, in Fairfax County; three general-purpose lanes in each direction; new transit service and park-and-ride lots; and safety and operational improvements at key interchanges.
