Tongaat Hulett on Monday announced that two of its senior executives, South African Sugar business head Martin Mohale and Mozambique head Rosario Cumbi, have elected to take early retirement.

Further, Sydney Mtsambiwa has stepped down as Tongaat Hulett Zimbabwe MD and will now be supporting the overall sugar business.

Tongaat CEO Gavin Hudson thanked these respective employees for their contribution and work.

He indicated that the changes in the leadership team would result in new appointments being made to the group executive committee.

“We are working on ensuring that the leadership team has the right mix of skill and experience to guide our company through the current challenges by stabilising the business and setting a clear path towards acceptable shareholder returns.”
