JOHANNESBURG (miningweekly.com) – As part of its continuing focus on the development of the flagship Mofe Creek iron-ore project, in Liberia, Sydney-listed Tawana Resources announced on Thursday that Wayne Richards would step in as CEO of the company, while retaining his position as chairperson.

Len Kolff would be appointed technical director, stepping down from the role of MD, and would remain an executive director of the board of Tawana and any relevant subsidiary companies.

Executive director Matthew Bowles had, meanwhile, resigned from the board to focus on other business commitments and would be replaced by Tawana CFO and company secretary Michael Naylor.

All changes would take effect from January 1 and, in response to the board and executive management changes and the current market conditions, the company was considering a new remuneration structure.

Richards outlined in a statement that the changes were representative of the ongoing evolution of the composition of the board and executive team as the company moved into the next phase of the development of the Mofe Creek project, in Liberia.
