Sidi Bouzid, Tunisia.

Project Owner/s
Renewable-energy solutions provider Scatec will own 50% of the project and Japanese conglomerate Toyota Tsusho Group subsidiary Aeolus will own 50%.

Project Description
The project entails the construction of a 120 MW solar power plant.

The project will generate 276 GWh/y of electricity and reduce CO2 emissions by nearly 107 000 t/y.

Scatec has signed a 25-year power purchase agreement with Tunisian State-owned power utility Société Tunisienne de l’Electricité et du Gaz.

Capital Expenditure
€96-million, which will be financed by a combination of nonrecourse debt and equity, with a leverage of about 70%. The project is further supported by grant funding from the EU Neighbourhood Investment Platform and guarantees from the European Fund for Sustainable Development Plus.

Planned Start/End Date
The project is expected to reach commercial operation in the second half of 2027.

The project announced financial close on June 17, 2026.
