SAPVIA appoints new governing committee members
Following its annual general meeting, industry organisation the South African Photovoltaic Industry Association (SAPVIA) has elected new governing committee office bearers, which marks a significant milestone in the association’s journey towards advancing the solar energy sector in South Africa, it said.
Norman Moyo, who brings a wealth of experience and expertise, has been elected as chairperson and Phemelo Mitchell as deputy chairperson.
Further, Melissa Hill retains her role as treasurer, and Jon Frick retains his as deputy treasurer. Their financial acumen and commitment will ensure the association's fiscal well-being, the association said.
Maloba Tshehla has been appointed as spokesperson and will serve as the voice of SAPVIA, while Frank Spencer and De Villiers Botha have been elected as deputy spokespersons.
Meanwhile, Khotso Selokoma is a newly elected member of the committee, while Mtho Xulu will continue serving as a longstanding member.
“The appointment of the new SAPVIA governing committee office bearers fills us with optimism for the future of the solar energy sector in South Africa. We are confident that, under their guidance and leadership, SAPVIA will continue to spearhead the development and growth of photovoltaic technologies, energy security, and driving sustainable change for the benefit of our society and environment as a whole,” it said.
The association also thanked outgoing governing committee members, including outgoing chairperson Chanda Nxumalo, outgoing deputy chairperson Sunette Smith and outgoing governing committee member Daniel Goldstuck, for their services.
