Rubi solar photovoltaic (PV) power plant project.

Location
The project will be located on the Moquegua district of Peru’s Mariscal Nieto province.

Client
Enel Green Power Peru, a subsidiary of Enel.

Project Description
The project involves the construction of Peru’s largest PV facility, with an installed capacity of 180 MW.

The plant will be able to generate an estimated 440 GWh/y – equivalent to the yearly consumption needs of about 351 000 Peruvian households – while avoiding the emission of more than 267 000 t/y of carbon dioxide into the atmosphere.

Electricity will be supplied to the National Interconnected Power System through the Montalvo substation.

The project is being financed with Enel’s own resources and supported by a 20-year power purchase agreement signed with the Peru’s Ministry of Energy and Mines.

Rubi is expected to start commercial operation in 2018.
