Shortly after shedding its Nashua Mobile unit, JSE-listed Reunert has reported an expected uptick in its first-half financial results.

The group expected a 7% to 17% rise in headline earnings a share and normalised headline earnings to between 254c and 279c during the six months to March 31.

Basic earnings a share were expected to be between 280c and 305c apiece, an increase of between 18% and 28% on the comparable period of the prior year.

The enhanced earnings were attributed to an improvement in the operating profits of the continuing operations, the interest earned on the proceeds of the Nashua Mobile deal and the additional profit earned on the sale of the Nashua Mobile base.

Reunert planned to publish its interim results on May 19.
