RBPlat to report higher FY earnings
JOHANNESBURG (miningweekly.com) – Higher sales volumes, higher rand basket prices and “good” cost containment were expected to push Royal Bafokeng Platinum’s (RBPlat’s) earnings up by between 33% and 42% for the year ended December 31.
RBPlat, which would publish its results for the year, on March 3, expected earnings per share (EPS) and headline earnings per share (HEPS) to be between 230c and 245c, compared with EPS and HEPS of 173c in the prior year.
The company also expected its normalised EPS for the year under review to surpass the 212c reported in 2013 at between 264c and 281c after adjusting for the aftertax effect of an additional amortisation and depreciation charge related to a fair value adjustment that was made in terms of International Financial Reporting Standards 3.
