Project Description
The project proposes to build and operate a new dedicated 340 000 twenty-foot-equivalent-unit container terminal in Puerto Quetzal.
The project will be completed in two phases.
In the first phase, a 300-m-long quay, 12.5 m deep, and a 13 ha yard, will be built.
In the second phase, the yard will be extended to 21 ha and the quay will be lengthened to 540 m and deepened to 14 m.
The terminal will be equipped with four ship-to-shore gantry cranes, one mobile crane and 12 rubber-tyred gantry cranes.
