JOHANNESBURG (miningweekly.com) – Aim-listed Premier African Minerals has been granted permission to operate its 49%-owned flagship RHA Tungsten project, in Zimbabwe, following the approval of the project’s environmental-impact assessment by the Environmental Management Agency (EMA) of Zimbabwe.

“Our in-house team worked in close cooperation with EMA and the granting of this permission to operate on time and under budget further demonstrates the commitment of both the National Indigenisation and Economic Empowerment Board, our partners in this project and the various departments of the Zimbabwe government to see RHA into production,” commented Premier CEO George Roach.

Production at the project, which was being developed at a cost of $4.15-million, would start in June.

The RHA project was expected to process 8 000 t/m of run-of-mine ore and produce, on average, 92 t/m of concentrate at 63% tungsten trioxide over a 22-month period.
