JSE-listed Altron subsidiary Power Technologies (Powertech) has bought a majority shareholding in turnkey substation solutions provider QuadPro for an undisclosed amount.

Powertech merged its turnkey substation business division within Powertech System Integrators into QuadPro, which would be renamed Powertech QuadPro, Powertech said in a statement on Monday.

“This new combined operation will have the economies of scale and the resourcing needed to grow the turnkey substation business in South Africa and the rest of the African continent,” the group said.

The group had secured in excess of R100-million worth of projects to date.

Powertech QuadPro CEO Harry Browne noted that the merger would strengthen its relationship with its customers in South Africa and the rest of Africa and ensure the delivery of quality projects within clients’ budgets and requested timeframes.
