JOHANNESBURG (miningweekly.com) – Potash Corporation of Saskatchewan (PotashCorp) has made a private proposal to Germany-based K+S to negotiate the acquisition of the company – Europe's largest supplier of potash for fertiliser use.

TSX- and NYSE-listed PotashCorp advised in a statement that there was no certainty that an offer would be made or as to the terms under which such an offer might be made.

PotashCorp, the world’s largest integrated fertiliser and related industrial and feed products company, would only make additional comments on the possible acquisition of K+S if and when it was appropriate to do so, or if a formal agreement had been reached.
