Oso Grande Wind Farm.

Location
The project is located in south-eastern New Mexico, in the US.

Project Owner/s
Tucson Electric Power (TEP).

Project Description
TEP plans to build a 247.4 MW wind farm, which will be able to power nearly 100 000 Tucson homes.

The project will include 61 highly efficient turbines.

Electricity will be delivered to Tucson through existing transmission lines that connect to TEP’s transmission system in eastern Arizona.

In addition, the project will avoid the emission of nearly 688 000 t/y of carbon dioxide.

Capital Expenditure
$370-million.

The project will be developed through a build and transfer agreement (BTA).

Planned Start/End Date
Construction is expected to begin in late 2019, and the system should be online by the end of 2020.

Latest Developments
EDF Renewables North America entered into and BTA with TEP in March 2019.
