PERTH (miningweekly.com) – Energy major Origin Energy has stated that liquefied natural gas production from the Australia Pacific Liquefied Natural Gas (APLNG) project would be at the lower end of the guidance during the 2023 financial year.

In a market update on Wednesday the company said that the continued impact of unseasonable wet weather and a forecast third La Niña is likely to result in production being towards the lower end of the 680 PJ to 710 PJ target.

In the 2022 financial year, the project delivered 693 PJ.

Capital and operating expenditure for the APLNG project has remained unchanged, at between A$2.5-billion and A$2.7-billion.
