Project Description
The project involves the construction of a 5-MW greenfield hydropower plant at the Mutirikwe dam (formerly Lake Kyle), south-east of Masvingo. The dam is currently the largest reservoir in Zimbabwe.

The plant could potentially be commissioned by late 2012.

Latest Developments
NuPlanet has been granted a generation licence by the Zimbabwe Electricity Regulatory Commission to build the plant. An eight-month technical feasibility and environmental-impact assessment phase for the project will begin in 2011, with procurement, contracting and construction to follow.
