MacLean puts down roots in the heart of Nevada's gold producing region
MacLean Engineering is significantly investing in growth in the United States, with the appointment of Dan Millette as US Sales Manager and his relocation to Elko, Nevada. This initial, keystone step in the company’s growth plan will be followed imminently by the securing of a local parts depot as well as the hiring of a local employee base of MacLean-certified field service technicians.
“Elko is the heart of the Nevada mining industry with its geographic positioning in the Carlin gold trend, one the world’s top gold producing regions, so it makes sense to have people on the ground to provide local support to our customers,” says Adam Howse, Business Development Manager for Western North America. “We are committed to putting the expertise and infrastructure in place to support and grow our US client base over the long term in Nevada as well as Utah, Arizona and Montana.”
“What’s drawing us to make these ongoing investments in our US support footprint is the scale and global importance of production in this part of the hard rock mining world, as well as the breadth of underground innovation being actively pursued by US producers,” notes MacLean President, Kevin MacLean. “We want to support these new technology integration efforts and at the same time, fine tune our innovation offer by establishing ourselves above ground where this important work is being done underground, around improving safety and productivity.”
Mr. Millette has been with MacLean for the past two years as Product Manager for the company’s shotcrete product line, leading the development of the next generation of MacLean sprayer as well as process and technology improvements to the current line of MacLean sprayers. He brings a wealth of professional experience, with some 40 years of working in the shotcrete industry at companies such as Euclid Chemical, DeGussa, and CANMET. He is an ACI Certified Concrete Field- Testing Technician, an ACI Nozzleman Examiner (wet-mix and dry-mix), and a Certified EFNARC Shotcrete Nozzleman Trainer/Examiner.
