Simon Scott resigns as Lonmin CFO
JSE-listed Lonmin is on the hunt for a new CFO, as Simon Scott plans to bow out after five-and-a-half years to pursue other interests.
While an official exit date is yet to be determined, it is expected that he will step down from the board and his director-ship follow- ing the group’s interim results publication in May.
Scott will remain on in a transitional role after the results.
“After successfully completing last year's fundraising in an exceptionally challenging market, it is now the right time for me to pursue other interests,” Scott said in a statement last week.
Lonmin’s nomination committee, which is at an advanced stage in its search, will announce a successor in due course.
“Over the past five-and-a-half years, Simon has played an important role during a difficult period for Lonmin, both as CFO and acting CEO,” says chairperson Brian Beamish, who has wishes Scott a successful future.
