Webber Wentzel proudly sponsored Olivia Habonimana and Danielle Dallas, from Immaculata Secondary School in Cape Town, to be part of the South African team that participated in the 2014 High School International Moot Court Competition at The Hague in February.

The week kicked off with orientation sessions requiring the learners to introduce themselves and explain what made their countries special. The South African team referenced former President Nelson Mandela, as well as the country's prolific wildlife and weather, its "rainbow nation" status, and the fact that South Africans are united in diversity.

There were 13 countries participating at the event. The moot case that was debated was 'The Prosecutor vs. Joseph Bombi', concerning a businessperson accused of committing crimes against humanity by enslaving workers at his diamond mines in a country torn by civil war.

Webber Wentzel CSI manager Themba Mdlalose spoke to Polity about this and other Webber Wentzel CSI initiatives.
