Project Description
The project involves the construction of a hydropower plant in the upper part of the Inn valley, near the Swiss border, in Tyrol.
The project comprises a 2.5-km-long reservoir, a 15-m-high weir, a 23.2-km-long head-race tunnel with diameters of 5.5 m to 5.8 m, a power house with two Francis turbines and a total installed capacity of 89 MW. The average output of 414.3-million kilowatt hours will be able to supply more than 90 000 households with carbon-dioxide-free electricity. The electricity will be integrated into the Austrian high-voltage grid.

The total investment amounts to €461-million.
Duration
Construction of the power plant started in August 2014 and will be executed with a local consortium partner to the end of 2019.
