JOHANNESBURG (miningweekly.com) – London-listed Hummingbird Resources on Tuesday successfully placed 4.1-million new shares to raise £1.85-million for general corporate purposes.

The West Africa-focused gold exploration and development company said the shares, at a price of 45p apiece, would be admitted to trade on Aim on Wednesday.

Following the placement, Hummingbird indicated that Resource Capital Investment-managed private investment fund, Exploration Capital Partners, would be interested in acquiring 4.1-million shares, representing about 4.8% of the issued share capital in Hummingbird.
