Project Description
The project entails the construction of a hybrid energy park comprising solar panels, wind turbines and batteries.
The first stage involves installing six wind turbines in the north of Goeree-Overflakkee island between Middelharnis and Stad aan ‘t Haringvliet.
The power output of the wind farm is estimated at 22 MW, which is enough to supply green electricity to an estimated 27 000 households.
The maximum height of the wind turbines will be 150 m. Once the wind turbines have been installed, the solar farm will be built, comprising 124 000 solar panels with a total output of 38 MW – enough to supply green electricity to about 12 000 households.
The batteries – supplied by BMW and with a capacity of 12 MWh – will be installed in 12 shipping containers on the solar farm.

All the wind turbines of Vattenfall’s first hybrid energy park have now been installed.
With the wind turbines are in place, Vattenfall can start the installation of solar panels and batteries. The batteries will be used for grid balancing purposes and will also serve as an energy storage.
