Globe gets new CEO
PERTH (miningweekly.com) – ASX-listed Globe Metals & Mining has appointed Alistair Stephens to the role of CEO, effective immediately.
Stephens is a geologist with more than 30 years of experience in the resources sector, and has held a number of board and senior management positions.
He was also previously employed as the MD and CEO of ASX-listed Arafura Resources between 2004 and 2009, was responsible for growing the company’s market capitalisation from A$4-million to A$380-million, and for transitioning the company’s rare earths project from exploration to feasibility stage.
In his CEO position at Globe, Stephens would be responsible for managing, developing and implementing the company’s strategy on delivering a definitive feasibility study for the Kanyika niobium project, and supporting the transition from explorer to project developer.
Stephens would replace Fergus Jockel, who has been acting CEO since August last year.
Jockel would remain with the company as exploration manager.
