Client
The project is a joint venture between Petronet LNG Limited (PLL) and Gangavaram Port. The companies signed a term sheet for developing the project in May 2012.

Project Description
The project involves the development of a ten-million-ton-a-year land-based LNG terminal at Gangavaram port, in Andhra Pradesh, with an initial installed capacity of five-million tons a year.

The terminal will comprise receiving, storage and regasification facilities for LNG.

Value
The project is estimated at Rs4 500 crore.

Duration
The terminal is expected to go on stream in the first quarter of 2016.

Latest Developments
PLL has launched an international competitive bidding process for the qualification of bidders for lump-sum engineering, procurement and construction contracts for the construction of the LNG terminal.

The deadline for the bid is June 28.
