South Africa Infrastructure Expo returns from 9 – 11 June 2026 at Gallagher Convention Centre, Johannesburg, this year expanding to include Transport Evolution Africa. The events connect government institutions, infrastructure financiers, engineers, planners and transport operators with the solutions, partnerships and knowledge driving South Africa’s infrastructure and transport pipeline. Co-located with the 14th edition of Big 5 Construct South Africa, the combined series brings together the full spectrum of the built environment.
Addressing the infrastructure and transport delivery agenda
Aligned with the National Development Plan 2030 and the National Infrastructure Plan 2050, South Africa Infrastructure Expo operates at an intersection of public policy and private investment, addressing infrastructure delivery requirements that underpin South Africa’s long-term ambitions.
The exhibition floor will gather Kapsch, Tontrac, ArcelorMittal and GEA Group, alongside more than 50 local and international companies spanning the full infrastructure ecosystem.
Building on the conversations beyond the exhibition floor, the events host several high-impact features, including South Africa Infrastructure Summit, uniting public and private sector leaders to discuss delivery, investment and innovation across the national infrastructure landscape. Infra360 sessions deliver hands-on, technical learning for engineers, planners and project managers tackling real infrastructure challenges. The invite-only CEO Forum, a Chatham House Rule executive gathering for candid dialogue on transport, logistics and infrastructure strategy, while the SEZ Lounge spotlights Africa's Special Economic Zones as critical drivers of investment, industrialization and economic connectivity.
“Incorporating Transport Evolution Africa into South Africa Infrastructure Expo reflects the deepening interdependence between transport infrastructure and the wider built environment investment landscape. Across Africa, infrastructure delivery and transport development are increasingly addressed together and this co-location with construction provides a unified platform that mirrors how these sectors are planned and delivered in practice,” said Josine Heijmans, Senior Vice President, dmg events.
Bringing the construction value chain together with infrastructure and transport
The focus on infrastructure systems and transport networks links long-term planning and investment with on-the-ground construction activities required to deliver them. This connection positions the co-location of Big 5 Construct South Africa with South Africa Infrastructure Expo, which also includes Transport Evolution Africa, as a comprehensive platform spanning strategy, delivery and implementation across the built environment.
Big 5 Construct South Africa connects buyers, specifiers and technical professionals with products, materials and solutions across the full construction supply chain, with direct access to supplier expertise.
“The co-location of these events brings together two parts of the same process: the long-term planning and investment that defines infrastructure ambition and the construction activity required to deliver it. Having that full continuum in one place, with the policy context and the buyer audience to match, is what makes this a genuinely useful proposition for the industry," said Heijmans.
