Engineering solutions provider ELB Group has made a firm offer to acquire electrical and instrumentation company B&W Instrumentation and Electrical, by way of a share scheme arrangement, which will see ELB exchanging one share for every 108 B&W shares.

ELB explained the motivation behind the proposed transaction as the alignment of the company  with its strategic focus of being a leading holistic engineering solutions provider and providing a broader service offering to its existing and future clients.

“The proposed transaction will create improved efficiencies and long-term sustainability for the combined group of companies,” the company said in a statement.

ELB intended to terminate the listing of B&W on the AltX of the JSE should the proposed transaction be implemented.
