JSE-listed Datatec subsidiary Logicalis has acquired a Channel Islands-based provider of hosted desktop and mail solutions, iConsult, for an undisclosed amount.

iConsult would be integrated with Logicalis’ existing Channel Islands operation, strengthening the group’s current information technology (IT) positioning in the region.

“This acquisition adds scale to the Logicalis Managed Services offering in the Channel Islands, which it acquired through the acquisition of the European subsidiaries of 2e2 in March this year," said Datatec CEO Jens Montanana.

The information and communications technology group expanded Logicalis’ European footprint through the $31-million acquisition of Europe-based IT services group 2e2’s subsidiaries, including businesses in Spain, Ireland and the Netherlands, in addition to the entity in the Channel Islands.

Datatec pointed out that the majority of iConsult’s $2-million yearly revenue was annuity in nature.
