South African cement producer PPC has teamed up with residential project developer Calgro M3 and construction industry representative body Master Builders South Africa to bring an eight-part reality series, PPC Cement’s Building Better Homes Challenge, to South African television viewers.

The series will follow the progress of four teams, preselected during “gruelling” nationwide auditions, facing various construction-related challenges, including concrete mixing, plastering, paving and brick laying, as they race to transform an incomplete dwelling.

At stake is a grand prize of a new Toyota Hilux Turbo Diesel, 1 t of PPC cement and R250 000 in cash.

The Building Better Homes Challenge will be screened on SABC 2 every Monday from April 14 to June 2.
