Century City’s R85-million office development, The Business Centre, will open on October 1, becoming what developer Rabie Property Group asserts will be the first Green Star South Africa-rated serviced office development in Africa.

Sales and marketing director for the development Ceri James said the 4 000 m2 office block, which was designed by Vivid Architects and constructed by Aveng, would fill a gap in the market, owing to its central location and the high demand for offices in the precinct, in Cape Town.

The Business Centre will offer 115 purpose-built offices with 370 workstations, several meeting rooms, videoconferencing facilities and an on-site cafe.

“Technology underpins the backbone of The Business Centre and supports our expanding customer base. “Through the centre’s carrier-neutral, open- access, fibre-optic network, Century City Connect, it is able to offer the fastest broad-band speeds and packages in Africa,” he commented.

James further noted that, as the centre was fully serviced, tenants would be able to start business operations as soon as they moved in, which made the development suitable for any start-up businesses, small and medium-sized enterprises, or national firms looking to avoid sizeable start-up and operational costs.

The Business Centre MD Travers Hathrill added that additional services included 24-hours-a-day, seven-days-a-week access; secure, modern, air-conditioned space; compre- hensive reception services; fully equipped kitchen facilities; daily office cleaning services and full-time centre managers.

“In addition, once a client has joined any of The Business Centres, they automatically enjoy access to any centre’s services in our national network,” said Hathrill.

The Century City-based development follows the establishment of Business Centres in Gauteng and KwaZulu-Natal.
