JOHANNESBURG (miningweekly.com) – One employee has died and another was seriously injured in a utility vehicle accident at Bokoni platinum mine’s Brakfontein shaft on Wednesday, TSX- and JSE-listed Atlatsa Resources Corporation has reported.

All operations related to the use of trackless equipment at the Brakfontein shaft were suspended after the artisan assistant was fatally injured.

A co-passenger remained in hospital in a critical but stable condition.

Bokoni mine management and the Department of Mineral Resources were investigating the incident.

The mine’s other operations remain unaffected.
