BMT WBM Machinery Group Appoints New Managing Director

Company Announcement - BMT WBM, a subsidiary of BMT Group, the leading international engineering, maritime and risk management consultancy, has announced the appointment of Paul Charlton as Managing Director of its Machinery Group. Paul has over 25 years’ experience in the mining machinery sector, working for Hydramatic Engineering and Sandvik Mining & Construction before moving to Nepean in 2010. He holds an MBA from the Newcastle Graduate School of Business. The BMT WBM Machinery Group currently has around 50 staff and specialises in services related to heavy machinery in the mining, rail and ports areas.
Services range from field testing and measurement to design, design audit, troubleshooting and advanced analysis. The company specialises in addressing unusual and technically difficult problems. Paul’s remit encompasses meeting key customer/client requirements while achieving increased market share and developing new opportunities. Current Managing Director of BMT WBM, Tony McAlister, will become Managing Director of BMT WBM’s Water & Environment Group where he will focus on continuing the growth and solid financial performance that this part of the business has seen in recent years. Together Tony and Paul will be Joint Managing Directors of BMT WBM.
Dr Owen Harrop, BMT’s Regional Director for Asia Pacific and the Americas commented: “Paul has proven business leadership and people management skills at an executive level, with the ability to lead, build & maintain an effective senior management team. His ability to apply commercial skills in a demanding technical, engineering environment will be crucial in delivering the customer-focussed offering that BMT is renowned for.”
