ASX-listed Askari Metals has reported Phase I trenching assay results from the K9 pegmatite target at its Uis project, in Namibia, confirming extensive mineralisation across tin, lithium, tantalum, rubidium and caesium over a 950 m strike. The company's licence sits immediately south-west of Andrada Mining's Uis mine, which hosts a mineral resource estimate of 77.51-million tonnes at 0.79% lithium oxide, 0.15% tin and 82 ppm tantalum, and Askari plans reverse circulation and diamond drilling in the second half of this year to test the scale and continuity of the K9 system.

The company has also completed an expanded 16 500 m diamond drilling programme at its Lithium Ridge project in partnership with SQM, with assay results from 22 holes confirming consistent high-grade lithium of up to 3.02% lithium oxide over 5 m.
European Investment Bank backs Uis lithium feasibility studyAndrada's Uis Tin Mining Company has entered into a cooperation agreement with the European Investment Bank to accelerate the feasibility study for the Uis lithium expansion project, with EU-funded technical and project development assistance valued at up to €2-million intended to advance the project to bankable feasibility level.
