ASX-listed Ionic Rare Earths has commissioned Tenova Advanced Technologies to complete a front-end engineering design study for its Belfast magnet recycling facility, drawing on Tenova's solvent-extraction, electrowinning and mixer-settler expertise. Backed by a £12-million UK government grant, the planned 400 t/y rare earth oxide plant targets meeting 10% of UK rare earth demand and 20% through recycling by 2035, with a final investment decision expected by the end of September 2026.
