The project involves the construction of a new chewing gum factory on a 8 ha site in Mavoko, Machakos County, to replace an existing plant in Nairobi’s industrial area.
The factory will produce 7.84-billion pellets of chewing gum a year when completed. The factory will reduce water and energy consumption.

The project will cost an estimated $63-million.
Duration
The factory is expected to start production in the first quarter of 2017.
