World Water Works Sponsors Water Environment Federation Webcast

Oklahoma City World Water Works, Inc., a leading designer and manufacturer of wastewater treatment solutions, is sponsoring a Water Environment Federation webcast: Full-Plant Deammonification for Energy Positive Nitrogen Removal, offered November 7th from 1:00-3:00pm Eastern. Leaders in the field of wastewater treatment will discuss the innovative new deammonification process and the paradigm shift that the ever-improving technology has started: that wastewater plants may soon become power plants.
The first step to energy neutrality is using the DEMON® side stream treatment process for treating the high strength ammonia laden stream produced at WWTP dewatering their anaerobic digested sludge. DEMON® systems provided by World Water Works reduces aeration requirements by 60%, in addition to reducing sludge handling requirements by 90% and eliminating the need for chemical additives (carbon / alkalinity). Incorporation of the DEMON® treatment technology into both the side stream and mainstream allows the reduction in energy consumption of the main process and with energy generation from the digesters provides enough to feed some energy back to the grid. World Water Works has recently developed a complete patent-pending system like this that they call WaterEnergy™.
In addition to discussing the available solutions provided by companies like World Water Works, the webcast will explore the future of these technologies by examining ongoing research. Panelists include a number of lead principal investigators for ongoing WEF and Water Environment Research Foundation projects surrounding the technology, including Maureen O'Shaughnessy, Dr. Sudhir Murthy, Dr. J.B. Neethling, and Dr. Charles Bott. There will be 2.0 Professional Development Hours offered for this webcast. For complete details on how to access the webcast visit: www.wef.org and further questions can be sent to webcasts@wef.org
