Women-only conference spotlights opportunities and threats faced by women in the Engineering, Infrastructure and Mining sectors – George, Western Cape

“The value of meeting in-person should not be underestimated” says Co-Owner of Pinpoint Stewards, Sudhira Sewsunker about the conference taking place in a weeks’ time, to Develop, Unite and Empower women in under-represented sectors. It’s DUE!
The two-day conference on 6 & 7 April in George, Western Cape will see twelve women, in top positions, take to the podium and not only focus on the challenges but opportunities awaiting women in male populated sectors. An exhibition will form part of the conference to showcase women empowerment opportunities and services offered. Partners in support of the conference include Women in Mining SA, Engineering Council of SA and Engineering News who have helped in profiling the event on social media.
Women attending the conference will have the opportunity to take introspect and also evaluate the structures within their organisations to better develop, support and sustain women in their places of work. Many women are empowered but it’s time to eradicate dysfunctional organisational systems, build healthier workplace cultures and create more equitable opportunities for women in organisations.
The conference support women and children initiatives and a percentage of their profits will be donated to each the Lighthouse Baby Shelter and WiMSA.
Pinpoint Stewards encourage university and high-schools to connect with them via video conference, as part of supporting young women to lead.
Pinpoint Stewards owners have experience in training and conferencing for over 20 years and is 100% women owned and Level 2 B-BBEE company.
