Project Description
The project involves the construction of the Netherlands’ largest near-shore wind farm.
The 144 MW wind farm will be erected in Ijsselmeer lake, along the northern and western dyke of the Noord-oostpolder municipality.
Forty-eight wind turbines will be arranged in three rows in the shallow waters between 500 m and 1 100 m from the dyke.
Each of these direct-drive wind turbines will generate an output of 3 MW, with 108 m rotor diameters ensuring maximum efficiency.

The project will cost more than €400-million to implement.
Duration
Commissioning of the wind farm is expected between the end of 2015 and early 2016.
Latest Developments
Siemens Energy has been awarded a turnkey contract for its gearless technology for the near-shore project. Siemens will supply 48 of its SWT-3.0-108 wind turbines.
