The West African Power Pool (WAPP), Organisation pour la Mise en Valeur du fleuve Sénégal (OMVS) and the Economic Community of West African States (Ecowas) will play key roles in the development of this regional project.

Project Description
The West African Power Transmission Corridor will ensure the transmission of energy between the seven West African countries – Guinea, Guinea Bissau, The Gambia, Sierra Leone, Liberia, Côte d’Ivoire and Ghana. The corridor will ensure low-cost energy and energy security for the WAPP and the countries involved. The project entails the construction of a 2 000 km transmission line with a 1 000 MW capacity.
