Latest Developments
To date, mine development at Talang Santo has been limited, following the approval of the technical and economic components of an updated project feasibility report in June 2013.
Kingsrose has met all the forestry permit requirements and is awaiting Ministerial approval of the final permit.
The current project environmental assessment (AMDAL) was approved in 2007 and incorporates the main project infrastructure, including the process plant, tailings storage facility and the camp. The substantive part of the extension to the AMDAL to include Talang Santo – the KA-ANDAL – has been completed and subsequently approved by the Ministry of Environment. The final documentation pertaining to the AMDAL extension was scheduled for submission in February.
In light of all obligations being met, PTNM requested permission to conduct full-scale mining activities without restrictions in late December 2013. The Indonesian Mines Department has since advised that the current limited development programme can continue, but full production will not be permitted until the grant of the forestry permit and AMDAL extension has occurred. Kingsrose expects to complete both permitting processes by April.
Key Contracts and Suppliers
None stated.
On Budget and on Time?
As a result of permitting delays, Kingsrose will not meet its production guidance for the financial year ended June 30.
