Minerals Council South Africa chairperson Mxolisi Mgojo on Monday told delegates and media attending the Investing in African Mining Indaba 2020, in Cape Town, that the council had been speaking to the National Energy Regulator of South Africa, the Department of Mineral Resources and Energy and other industry stakeholders about the impediments faced by the mining industry in getting electricity self-generation projects going.

He noted that talks have also been held with power utility Eskom.
