Ushiku Clean Centre refurbishment project, Japan
Name and Location
Ushiku Clean Centre refurbishment project, Japan.
Client
Ushiku City.
Project Description
The Ushiku Clean Centre comprises a solid waste incineration plant with three fluidised-bed incinerators, each with a 45 t/d capacity, and auxiliary equipment, as well as a recycling facility with a capacity of 18 t per five hours for bulky waste shredding, sorting glass bottles, plastic bottles and cans, and bottom ash recycling.
The order calls for the refurbishment of the incineration plant to maintain its proper functioning and extend its service life, as well as reduce carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions through enhanced energy conservation.
Work will consist of replacing or revamping superannuated equipment used primarily for incineration, combustion gas cooling, flue gas treatment, waste heat use and ventilation, as well as electrical and instrumentation systems.
The refurbishment project will also target enhanced energy conservation, largely through the adoption of inverters and high-efficiency motors in key equipment, and a greater than 3% reduction in CO2 emissions, thereby contributing to the curbing of global warming.
Value
¥1.93-billion.
Duration
The work is slated for completion in March 2020.
