Tyobeka to head up NNR

Energy Minister Dipuo Peters has appointed Dr Bismark Tyobeka as the National Nuclear Regulator of South Africa’s new CEO effective September 2.

Tyobeka, who is the former head the International Atomic Energy Agency’s gas-cooled reactors unit, had several national and international qualifications in the nuclear field from the University of North West, US-based universities Penn State and Colorado Technical and the University of Dundee, in Scotland.

He had also actively participated at several nuclear conferences and contributed to a variety of nuclear publications and conference proceedings.
