Project description
The World Bank has approved a loan to support the Tunis west sewerage project. The proposed project aims to improve the quality of sanitation services in greater Tunis, promoting the reuse of treated wastewater in irrigation and enhancing performance of the sewage authority through financial and operational management capacity building.
The project comprises the following components: the construction of a sewage treatment plant in El Attar in the western part of Tunis, as well as the construction of a system of mains and pumping stations to transfer raw sewage to the treatment plant and to transfer treated sewage to irrigation basins to be used for agriculture.
Value
The World Bank has approved $66,8-million for the project.
